Membership Categories:

Regular Membership is available to individuals (employees or freelance practitioners) who have responsibilities for the management or implementation of the public relations / communications program of a health region, institution or organization or a national, provincial or community-based health delivery organization. To be known as Members, they shall have voting privileges and be eligible to hold elected office.

Associate Membership is available to individuals who are: (A) engaged by a health region, institution or organization and who have responsibilities ancillary to public relations function; (B) previous members who wish to retain membership while taking a personal, professional or educational sabbatical for a period of up to four years. To be known as Associate Members, they may participate in all activities of the association, but shall not have voting privileges or be eligible for elected office.

Student Membership may be made available to individuals who are actively pursuing a full-time course of study in public relations or related discipline, and who have indicated an interest in health care public relations. Student members may participate in all activities of the Association, but shall not have voting privileges or be eligible for elected office.

Transfer of Membership - Membership in the Association shall not be transferable to another person except at the discretion of the National Executive Committee.
